Reminder: We do traffic disputes

So although in most cases the cost of hiring a lawyer to represent you in traffic court simply doesn't seem worth it given the small penalties if you lose, in certain situations, it may still be advisable to have the best representation.

For example, today Cory Armour appeared on behalf of a client who was facing charges for "driving without due care and attention" and "failing to remain at a scene of an accident".  Had the client lost, he would have been facing fines in excess of $750, plus 6 points on his licence (likely resulting in a 4 month driving prohibition), as well he would have been in breach of his insurance and liable to ICBC for the cost of the damages resulting from the accident (upwards of $7000).  Thankfully to the client, however, he retained one of our lawyers and the charges were dismissed.  As a result, not only is the client still able to drive without any pending prohibitions, but he can also rest easy knowing ICBC likely will not be able to pursue him for their losses.

Long story short: although tempting to say it's "just traffic court", sometimes the penalties for losing can be quite significant.  If you're facing serious driving-related charges or if you fear additional points on your licence might result in a driving prohibition from the Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles, then give us a call; we can help.
