DWP Dismissed

A charge of driving while prohibited was dismissed against one of Mr. Armour's clients today after Mr. Armour successfully argued to exclude all statements made at the scene to the arresting officer.  Without those statements, the charge could not stick.

As a result of this, the client not only dodged a hefty $500 fine, but he also avoided a mandatory one year driving prohibition which is otherwise required by the Motor Vehicle Act for a conviction for this offence.  This was especially important in this case since the client is employed as a crane operator who travels all over Western Canada for his employment and would have certainly lost his job had he been convicted.
