Aboriginal and Treaty Rights

Aboriginal peoples who exercise their Aboriginal rights on the ground are often prosecuted (ex. hunting and fishing), but also when Aboriginal activists want to stop developments that fail to take into account Aboriginal rights and threaten to destroy their traditional territories. The criminalization of indigenous activists violates both human and indigenous rights.

At Tessmer Law Offices we continue to defend Aboriginal Peoples who exercise their Aboriginal Title and Rights and have been charged as a result. Our experience in defending charges in court and using constitutional defences qualifies us as your advocate in court.
